Choosing a Flight School

Find an Approved Training Organisation (ATO or Flight School) where you want to undergo training.
Compare:
-
Customer Service - you will be spending a LOT of money and though you are a "student". always remember that you are also a customer. Do not settle for inferior service.
-
Reputation - it is a small industry, everybody has a reputation and there is nowhere to hide in the world of social media. Find THE BEST Flight Instructor you possiby can - what you learn from this person will remain with you for the rest of your flying career.
-
Costs - it is expensive training, so you want to pay for the best quality. Never pay large ammounts of deposits up-front - once you do, you will lose control of the money and you will likely never get it back. It is acceptable to pay, say 5 hours, upfront. That way you have options if things go pear-shaped - unfortunately it does happen sometimes.
-
Fleet of aircraft - it does not have to be brand-new, but it MUST be well-maintained and in sufficient numbers.
