PPL Requirements

What do you require to obtain your Private Pilots License?

Restricted Radio License

Total of 45 hours flying Instruction –
– 15 hours solo
– 3 hours cross country flight

Signed Logbook

PPL Flight Test

You must be at least 15 years of age to start training, 16 for a Student Pilot License (enabling you to go solo) and 17 to attain your Private Pilot License. There is no maximum age limit.

You must be able to read, speak and understand English.

You must undergo a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) medical examination every two years (annually after 40 years of age). This exam must be performed by a CAA approved medical examiner.
